Fable about advices and risks. The horse and the vulture
Fable about advices and risks.
Once upon a time, there was a horse who lived peacefully with his partner and two foals. A short time ago, he had managed to finish his little house and build his family, which was his greatest treasure. Every morning, she would go out to her porch and sit in the sun and watch her little ones having fun. What a beautiful life of mine!, he repeated, and he felt happy while he watched his sheep smile and saw how time passed smoothly.
It wasn’t always like that, years ago he worked very hard and without rest, he hardly slept, he hardly spoke to his partner and he didn’t even have time to think, although that wasn’t his thing, his grandfather always told him, we come to this world to work, not to think. He had done so and it had gone well.
Despite his age, it was difficult for him to sit still for long, so he went for a short walk. There was a nearby ravine that always caused him a lot of curiosity, and that’s where he ended up. When he looked down from above, a sense of space and freedom came over him. An old vulture, run over by time, looked at him from a tree and said:
– Good day!
– Good morning – the horse responded cheerfully.
– What are you doing here, if I may know?
– Well, walking around a bit, you see, my children are there playing, and my beautiful wife is very calm at home. I have a lot of free time, so you can already see me looking at the horizon and enjoying the scenery.
– Oh, right, I see you in the morning when I take my morning flight, what a nice family, your wife is beautiful and your little ones are always happy.
– Morning flight? I haven’t seen you, what is that?
– It’s when I fly over the field very early to find out how things are, I always pass over your house, maybe you haven’t seen me because you’re always looking down. It’s hard to see up if you’re always looking at the ground. Also, the speed with which you get from one side to the other is amazing. It’s amazing what you feel flying.
– Fly – said the horse thoughtfully. Apparently so much work had made him miss interesting things. Suddenly he wanted to fly.
– What is it like to fly? I want to do it with you in the mornings – said the horse.
Then the vulture was surprised and was silent for a few minutes. How is it possible that a horse does not know what it is to fly, and also wants to do it? You must be kidding – he thought.
Not fully understanding what was happening, the cunning vulture asked:
– Tell me, do you really not know what it is to fly?
– I don’t know what it is, but if it makes you so happy, I want to try.
– It’s the best – smiled the vulture. I don’t think anyone can be happy without it, when you do it you are so free, you see everything from another dimension. The freedom you achieve is priceless, no one can chase you, touch you, or tie you up. It is feeling truly alive.
– Oh! – murmured the horse, how could I live without flying. I want to fly, now – he said enthusiastically.
– So, let’s go! The vulture replied, jumped from the tree to the side of the horse and walked him to the edge of the ravine, spread his wings and said:
– First, you have to believe in yourself, you can get everything you want, you just have to work hard, Trust your inner power, look ahead, feel the wind in your face, then jump off the cliff and move hard your legs to keep you in the air.
The horse thought: Oh, it’s true, I’ve heard that somewhere, of course, yes, I can do it, and he didn’t even hesitate for a moment, he jumped into the void. Even when he was in the air falling, he thought, wow! How happy I am flying! Seconds later it shattered against the rocks at the bottom of the ravine, and it was all over.
The vulture couldn’t believe what he was seeing and shouted, wait, wait!
Too late. Until the last moment, the vulture assumed that it was a joke of the horse, he did not even imagine that he was going to launch. But there are animals like that, you don’t have time to explain, and even if you explain, they won’t understand you. The vulture took flight and began circling from the sky, waiting for the sun to decompose the horse’s meat for a feast.
Morals:
1 – If you are happy with what you have, but you never settle, be careful not to bet everything to get what others have. With great risk comes great reward; but do not forget that the depth of the river should never be measured with both feet.
2 – Not everyone who gives advice does it for your own good. Even with good intentions, it can be bad advice for you.
3 – The things that make some happy do not always work for others. Nor are horses happy flying, nor are fish happy playing soccer. Each with their preferences and qualities.
4 – Be careful who you listen to and who guides you for your happiness. If they are not happy, much less will they be able to teach you.
5 – Think about things very well before doing them, a horse in pieces, will never be the same again.
6 – Wisdom is the most important weapon you have, cultivate your intelligence, so you can make good decisions. A wrong decision can end everything you have.
7 – Some do not do well to have free time.
8 – You must fight intensely for what you want. As long as you do not destroy everything that you have already achieved.
9 – Select very well from whom you listen for advice. There are always many vultures flying nearby.
10 – Whenever you can, consult the decisions with your family. You could avoid many ravines.
